The Inner Margin
Yet, THIS is only the beginning.
Before we welcome you further into our hidden yet highly esteemed fold, you must prove your worth to us…
and you must be sure we can prove our worth to you…
yet before that can happen… we must educate you… so you can tell us what we want to hear you say, Initiate.
Whether you are an investigator (budding scientist) researching the impossible… or an acolyte (aspiring cultist) answering the call… or both at this point… here within The Inner Margin, much attention and devotion is being given to understanding and advancing esoteric knowledge… and of the old ones in particular. What we all have in common here, at least, I believe… is that we all agree it best to accept our relative insignificance, both as individuals and as a species… and yet there is something to be said about yearning to learn more about, and contribute to, the greater body of knowledge regarding the cosmic entities we acknowledge regardless of whether they acknowledge us back. where we differ is in our personal attitudes and understandings regarding the cosmos, yet again, each of us holds true to that we are all confident we can contribute to all manner of intelligent conversation regarding philosophy and ethos. This cosmos, and our subsequent desire to methodologically indulge ourselves in seeking “connection” with it… is the essential thread holding all our wondering and resultant work together… I would be remise if I were here to stagnate in complacent ignorance of what goes on beyond our apparent perceptual limitations. Each of us treads a slightly different path regarding our skills and talents, with some able to contribute much more of the same, which is good, and others quite a bit less of things very different, which is good. For example, while I have extensive experience with “forms” of magic such as sorcery as defined by Castaneda, Nordic magic including runes and sigils, and also… minor miracles of one sort or another… … someone else might be well versed in the magick of Aleister Crowley; and while I might be able to dole hour after hour over obscure texts in search of clues for things I barely recall searching for… someone else might be ready and willing to travel to exotic locations and perform field research others cannot afford to do, in the very least well or efficiently, both in terms of financing and charisma.
The primary goal of The Inner Margin is to advance each member’s level of understanding of the interconnectedness between seemingly disparate things; and secondarily, to provide a place to collaborate and share camaraderie with other investigators/scientists and acolytes/cultists alike.
What is the difference between an investigator/scientist and an acolyte/cultist? Mainly, the investigator/scientist seeks to obtain and increase a level of understanding contained within human empirical models (abstraction/objectivity) which by definition lack a motivating bias and depend entirely upon our ability to communicate with, and be evaluated by, our peers within the scientific community at large… whereas the acolyte/cultist seeks to obtain and increase a level of understanding by way of submission to the “thing” sought to be understood, which requires relying upon subjectively interpreted and/or accepted experience values. That said, all initiates of The Inner Margin must understand that regardless of which fork the path leads and is thus followed… The Inner Margin is a place to escape from the prying eyes of the community at large, as well as to enhance the spiritual journey by way of aids to self-discipline and mentorship. We not only provide refuge and secrecy so that they who truly seek deeper knowledge and wisdom can find it unhindered by the status-quo limited prying eyes of “the world”, we also serve to protect “the world” from sources of knowledge and wisdom, insight and experience that would otherwise be too challenging for the masses to fruitfully encounter. Thus is our two-fold purpose.
What I can bring… minimally… to The Inner Margin is a four-decade old level of urgent maturity bordering on “Lovecraft-aeholism”… that is likened unto a fine mellowing whiskey changing caskets to absorb the additive remnants of exotic bourbons of ages past; or a witches cauldron I am perpetually adding ingredients to, in order to find just the right effects… food for thought, to put into simpler terms.
What can you bring… minimally… to The Inner Margin?
Science is symmetry, in other words, to both the left and to the right of the equal sign MUST be true representations of the equal sign… thus science is the way of order… The Order of Science (The Order). Whereas, chaos is symmetry broken, disturbed, enshadowed, or unbalanced; chaos arises from order… it is inherent to the systems of chaos in their sigils that at rest are ordered… in perfect symmetry… but then, suddenly or gradually, it matters not, the malevolence begins and from within that perfect symmetry arises chaos… thus cultism is the way of chaos… The Chaos of Cultism (The Chaos).
Science begins with the individual who is predominantly comparatively oriented in terms of perception, and relies upon a collective agency of validation based on rules of mathematics and its predecendent logic, resulting in the chaos of new information arising from within the order inherent to group cohesion. Cultism too begins with the individual, but who is differentiatively oriented in terms of perception, and relies upon a collective agency of inclusion based on rules of ethos and our underlying true natures, resulting in order distilled from the chaos of a collective of subjectivity.
If science and cultism can be successfully merged… then! This… providing for the possibility of… this, then therefore!… is our tertiary goal here within The Inner Margin.
Marginality = the purely subjective expression of the personality of The Marginal.
We strive to ascend to our truest nature of being, which is as indicative as possible of the unlimited human potential for a pure order of chaos!
Are you ready to start thinking about your pathway toward ascension to true marginality… to realizing you are a Marginal?
If so, you are in the right place… the only place to do so!
So… I ask again… what can you bring… minimally… to The Inner Margin?
After submitting the below form, you will receive a reply from an Inner Marginist as to whether or not you shall be granted access to The Inner Margin and thus be deemed esteemed enough to count as one among us.
But first! Heed…
🕯️The Unspoken Covenant of Marginals Bound🕯️
Guard the Threshold
Enter not with vulgar tongue nor base intent. This place is consecrate—an enclave for the solemn, the seeking, and the strange. Let thy conduct be as a lantern: bearing light, not wildfire.
Let Thy Speech Be Weighty
Utter not idle prattle, for every word inked within these bounds is a summons unto meaning. Be thou measured, and speak as one who knoweth the worth of silence.
Reverence the Veil
That which is hidden is hidden for cause. Meddle not with sacred obscurity, and pry not where invitation hath not been given.
Query with Humility
Ask, that ye may know—not to undo. For doubt, when wielded aright, becometh the lamp of insight; but when sharpened with pride, it cutteth the thread of kinship.
Esteem Thine Elders of Ink
Yield thee to the precedence of those whose names are scribed in earlier folios. For time within these halls confers not arrogance, but stewardship. Mock not the aged margin, for its edges are worn with wisdom.
Share Thy Scroll
Covet not the quill alone. Leave space for others that their hands too may scribe beside thine. For the margin extendeth outward only when many pens draw inward.
Preserve the Tone Unspoken
Remember always: that which goeth unwrit oft speaketh loudest. Respect the silence between the sigils, whether your own… or the dim or bright din which of others regardless gloweth.
“In relating the circumstances which have led to my confinement within this refuge for the demented, I am aware that my present position will create a natural doubt of the authenticity of my narrative. It is an unfortunate fact that the bulk of humanity is too limited in its mental vision to weigh with patience and intelligence those isolated phenomena, seen and felt only by a psychologically sensitive few, which lie outside its common experience. Men of broader intellect know that there is no sharp distinction betwixt the real and the unreal; that all things appear as they do only by virtue of the delicate individual physical and mental media through which we are made conscious of them; but the prosaic materialism of the majority condemns as madness the flashes of supersight which penetrate the common veil of obvious empiricism.” {Jervas Dudley [from H. P. Lovecraft’s The Tomb (written in June 1917 and first published in the March 1922 issue of The Vagrant)]]
